Graphic for News Item: Exclusive: NHV Cancel All Flights Over Helicopter Safety Concerns After Crack Found

Oil and Gas People has learned that NHV has today grounded all of its helicopter fleet cancelling flights across the North Sea.

NHV confirmed they have chosen to cancel all flights after a major crack was found on one of the Aberdeen based 175’s in the horizontal stabilator. The helicopter in question was not operated by NHV.

A source told Oil and Gas People that the crack stems the length from leading edge to near the trailing edge of the stabilator.

A flight speed restriction was put in place by the aircraft manufaturer Airbus but NHV decided instead to cancel all flights and wait for the release of a safety bulletin that will be released this afternoon.
